Meet Our Team

Susan Henriques

M.A., C. Psych., Registered Psychologist

From a young age, I knew I wanted to be a psychologist.  My career began at the Hospital for Sick Children and completed her graduate studies in School and Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Toronto in 2001. With over 23 years of experience in school boards and five years with a family health team, I have addressed a range of learning, emotional, mental health and behavioural challenges. My work also included training and supervising graduate students from UofT.  I also led  social-emotional programs in classrooms with a focus on positive psychology for children

Susan conducts comprehensive and holistic psychoeducational assessment for people ages 7-21 years to explore a variety of learning and behavioural issues.  In addition, my work involves individual counselling to youth and their parents for a variety of issues such as mental health, behaviour, social skills, etc.   I also provide CBT-intervention for performance anxiety as I myself have my piano performance diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music.

As the founder of New Horizons, Susan aims to offer personalized assessment and therapy for children (ages 7-21) and their parents, setting goals and making plans together. Her goal is to create a positive, connected relationship where you and your family feel heard and understood.

Susan is a mom of two young adults and a fur baby!
